The Art of De Grisogono

An Angolan diamond will be shaking up the Christie’s Geneva auction in November. Originally cut from a 404.20 carat diamond found in the Lulo Mine which is owned by Lucapa Diamond Company is name the February 4th diamond which we previously covered in our previous post. The rough was sold for a bargain $16 million and was cut in NYC into a 163.41 carat D colored, Flawless emerald cut diamond. Famed jeweler De Grisogono who bought the rough stone later designed the necklace as a whole. The asymmetrical shape is a dominant design of the necklace which features 18 emerald cut diamonds and two rows of emeralds pear shape gemstones that surround a large part of the necklace. Named “The Art of De Grisogono”, this masterpiece truly defies the modern jewelry design of exceptionally rare jewels. Sourcing speciality stones for your rare creations is easy with VDB. It shows the extreme in engineering as well as design for the designer and craftsman. Sometimes it does not translate as well in its 3 dimensional form, but it looks like this one does. Magnificent!!!!!!
