The art of creating limited editions that meet our customers' expectations.
Making your own product is relatively simple. The ingredients are already in our heads and we've been maturing them for a long time. Once the musical score has been written, all that remains is to play it.
Creating a product for someone else is a completely different process. It's necessary to go through extrospection and active listening before any creation.
The genesis
When we created the HOXXOH brand five years ago, we did not intend to open a customized champagne bottle service for our customers.
It all started with the creation of our own champagne bottles. We worked with Thibaut Aullen , designer and marketer, founder of the Artus Vinis agency.
At first we didn't really understand what he was getting at. He was asking us to talk about ourselves when we wanted to talk about our products. It wasn't until a few years later that we understood his approach, and we are very grateful to him for that. With him, we created our very first cuvée, HOXXOH Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru 2014.
More than just a bottle, we've written a story. HERE's the result.
In the end, we came up with a very elaborate design for the bottle. The history of our champagne and our own is a real open book.
This has been a great source of interaction with our customers, who keep asking us questions about the design of the bottle and eventually ask us to design their own Champagne bottle.
The very first limited-edition request
Tokyo's prestigious Isetan department store asked us to produce a limited series of 199 bottles through our importer, Sommelier Wine Shop.
The aim was to highlight an exceptional bottle for their annual champagne trade fair. The theme was the perfect symbiosis of content and container.
Selecting Champagne
The most important thing, of course, is the quality of the champagne in the bottle. That's why we've come up with probably the best Blanc de Blancs we've ever made. A Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru 2016 made with Chardonnay from Oger Grand Cru. And yet the harvest started very badly!
Mother Nature didn't spare us in 2016, with 25% of the harvest frozen in the spring and half the bunches destroyed by hail in the summer! Torrential rains at the beginning, heat and drought at the end.
It wasn't until the wines were made that we realised this 2016 Grand Cru was finally magnificent. It's as if we'd suddenly awoken from a long, numbing hypnosis to discover a grandiose nectar.
Choose a theme
The choice of theme is usually part of an initial meeting to set objectives. We use a questionnaire to cover all needs. For this first assignment, the client gave us one word: HYPNOSIS.
The first proposal
Once we have a better understanding of our client and his objectives, the bulk of the work for the HOXXOH design team begins.
- Choice of graphic
- Selection of artists
领英推荐
- Specification of all images to be included in the final design
- etc.
But what's the point of offering a 2D design if it's going to be created in 3D on a bottle of champagne? It's simply impossible!
That's why all our graphic proposals are first vectorised and then fully modelled in 3D. The clients receive a link that allows them to analyse the proposal from every angle by manipulating the bottle in 3D. They can also view it in augmented reality, immersed in the environment of their choice.
Example HERE
We often suggest variants to guide us towards the final version. Depending on the project, we go back and forth with the client between 2 and 8 times.
Once the design has been validated, we work with the customer on the design of the box, based on lacquered wood.
And sometimes we add an element to the bottle that the end user can keep as a souvenir. Here, a hypnosis pendulum.
This first limited series sold out in no time...
Since that first experience, our design department has been working flat out. A limited edition for a famous American rapper, limited editions for major jewellers to give away to their customers, an English football stadium, etc...
Most recently, a limited series for Jean Paul Gaultier, for the launch of his new perfume Gaultier Divine during Paris Fashion Week in September 2024.
The HOXXOH design team is at your disposal to offer you its services. Don't hesitate to contact us, this service is completely free for reasonable quantities.
Why is it free?
Simply because creation, design and personalisation are our leitmotiv.
