A Sense of Community

As society and culture are oftentimes reflected in artwork, viewers can feel seen through an art piece. Physically, art brings people together to enjoy and discuss. On an emotional level, we connect to different pieces of art for a host of personal reasons.?

A confidential investment firm in Austin, Texas wanted art to help connect people to their workplace. Of course they wanted to create a professional environment, but their goals also included engaging with the next generation, fostering an atmosphere of inspiration, and highlighting important values like innovation. The art combined with gorgeous interiors by IA Architects created a space that people want to come back to again and again.?

To meet these goals, we selected a mix of unique local and national artists for an art installation that is both textural and dimensional. It displays a minimalist and elevated style while adding a unique energy and meaning to the space.

?Artists Carefully Selected to Reflect the Community?

We worked with painter and sculptor Tom Jean Webb who grew up in the UK but was fascinated from an early age by the American Southwest. His grandfather was his partner in loving this part of the world and even gave him his first pair of cowboy boots and a cowboy hat.?

Fast forward to 2020, Webb was separated from his then-fiancé due to COVID-19, which prompted him to create a romantic piece that became the inspiration for his artwork in this project. The emotional connection innately connects viewers to this art piece.?

The landscape and colors of the painting connect to Austin on a visual level. The story behind the paintings connect to each of us on an emotional level and the personal experiences we have all lived through over the past few years.??

Textile and Baltic birch pieces bring color, texture, and warmth to a cozy seating area. The color of the intriguing piece created from woven wool yarn draws visitors and employees down the corridor for a closer look!?

The Selection of Unique Local and National Artists

The texture and color of these mixed-media pieces do more than just create a warm, inviting environment. They also tie into the company's values of innovation and make visible the importance of their employees and putting their clients first! When giving tours of their gorgeous offices, they now can use their art as a way to tell their company story.
