The Art of Color Branding
Did you know there is more behind the color of your brand than you think? While not every single brand's color has a meaning, if yours doesn't, it should at least take it into consideration. Think about your favorite products and look at the overall feel of the brand image they give you. Do you like them because the colors stand out and showcase bold, strong ads? Do you choose them because they are warm and inviting or do you just like the pretty pictures they use for ads?
I have been blessed to do a lot of marketing campaigns and it is funny how often business owners don't really understand what branding really is. This is finally becoming a normal thing being taught in developing business plans but I can remember back in the day when people thought your brand was a logo. (It's ok if you think that, let's talk! :-P)
The importance the color is the overall objective you want to achieve with your marketing and advertising. There are certain characteristics associated with colors and if you are lost about which ones to use try looking for guidance using those. For example, the color red can mean things like strong, bold, active, powerful and passionate. Is that something you want to be conveyed to your ideal audience? Know your objective first and go from there when choosing your overall brand pallette. Keep it clean, simple and memorable and you will be at the top of the list before you know it!
