The Art of Business Disruption

What have art and music got to do with business leadership and disruption? I'm off to Warsaw for one night next Thursday to find out. I'm presenting alongside Sebastian Kotow, eminent psychologist and speaker and Carmen Tarcha, CEO of the Quadrillon Art Gallery. This exclusive event is a prelude to our leadership masterclass on 23 / 24 June at Pure Sky Club, the premier business venue in Warsaw.

We'll be discussing leadership, disruptive innovation and lessons from great leaders based on ideas from my new books "The Music of Business" and "Punk Rock People Management". Here's five themes on leadership we'll be exploring:

Five Leadership Fundamentals

1. Leadership cannot be separated from management. Great leaders have to manage and great managers must lead.
2. Leadership is a discipline as well as an art. There is as much to learn from the business school as there is from the art school.
3. Leaders must learn to improvise in a disruptive environment. These skills reside amongst musicians more than they do in MBA programmes.
4. Leadership is about making the complex compellingly simple rather than hiding behind jargon.
5. Leadership is about authenticity, personified in this quote from Sr Richard Branson.
