The Art of Bathing: More Than Just a Routine

Bathing isn’t just about cleaning the body—it’s a way to relax and refresh. As a child and teenager, I was lucky to spend hours in rivers, enjoying the cool water and peaceful surroundings. Those moments weren’t just fun; they were a way to recharge.

I remember an old man telling me, “The human body is like a machine; it needs proper relaxation. Staying in water helps cool it down.” His words stayed with me, reminding me how water can soothe and restore us.

Even in ancient Sri Lanka, bathing was important. Kings built Pokunas—special pools for bathing—because they understood how it helped both the body and mind.

Today, life has become so fast that most of us settle for quick showers, losing the calm and joy of bathing. Maybe it’s time to bring it back—whether by spending a little longer under the shower or finding a moment to visit a natural waterway.

Bathing isn’t just a task; it’s a chance to refresh your body and mind. Take the time. You deserve it.
