ARROGANT BUSINESS DECISIONS
I’m not a Donald Trump fan, but I admire some of his traits.
One of the biggest lessons I have learnt on one of the episodes of “The Apprentice”, was that arrogance can cost your whole career, company, or even your life.
On this episode a guy (Lets name him Ken), won immunity, he was going onto the next episode and was safe from elimination…he could breathe calmly and watch from a safe space while the remaining two apprentices were grilled. One of the other two apprentices was up for elimination and somewhere through the questioning Donald Trump was praising Ken for his excellent results. Ken said he is so confident in his abilities that his willing to waiver his immunity which Donald Trump gladly accepted.
At the end of the questioning, the other two wasn’t eliminated, and Donald Trump fired Ken, stating that such a decision could cripple a company. Watching Ken saying to himself “Im so stupid” over and over again in the taxi going home was a good lesson for me and anyone that watched the show…don’t be too arrogant, in fact don’t be arrogant at all.
Arrogance and confidence are two totally different things. You, or one of your staff members could cripple, or largely damage your company through arrogance.
Please share.
Be safe and have a great day.
Brent.
