ARPM Quant Bootcamp and the principle of relativity

ARPM Quant Bootcamp and the principle of relativity

We are getting dangerously close to another Advanced Risk and Portfolio Management (ARPM) Quant Bootcamp, our yearly intense training for quantitative risk managers, financial data scientists, portfolio managers, students with quantitative background, and avid learners.

Do you recognize yourself as one of the above?

If so, the ARPM Quant Bootcamp may still not be quite for you, because you will also need to be brave.

Where? When? Mohammed or the Mountain

We used to think of ourselves as the Mountain, and you as Mohammed. We used to enjoy sitting in the scorching New York August sun for one week, waiting for you to come to us.

But then we recalled our roots in mathematical physics, the principle of relativity, and its beauty, and so we lost track of our train of thoughts… oh yes, relativity: well in this day and age, when unfortunately COVID-19 makes it impractical for you to come to us, what is preventing us from going to you? You can be the Mountain… and we made it happen.

So, this year we are coming to you with two delivery options:

- Streaming (Anywhere, August 10th - 15th)

- On Demand (Anywhere, Anytime)

Plus, for both Streaming and On Demand, all the code, case studies, theory, slides, data animations, etc, will be available in the ARPM Lab. Have you checked it out yet for free?

The wise and…us

Now, a word of caution. Are you willing to give up fresh air, a trip to the beach, a moment with your dear one(s), and more? We won’t judge you if you are, and in that case we will use your time to relentlessly cover (even more) machine learning, classical/Bayesian multivariate statistics and econometrics, financial analytics, market, credit & liquidity risk management; estimation error and model risk, factor modeling, alpha-beta signals, portfolio construction, optimization; and much, much more… In the Streaming option, we will also bombard you with thoughts and opinions of world-renowned quants Jean-Philippe Bouchaud, Peter Carr, Rama Cont, Dan di Bartolomeo, Jim Gatheral, Bob Litterman, Dilip Madan, Fabio Mercurio, Dan Rosen and Til Schuermann.

Despite our best efforts to make the ARPM Bootcamp brutal, fun will leak in (we tried to prevent it, but it always leaks in):

- First off, you will be at home, what’s more fun than that? (Undoubtedly, we are a bunch of proud introverts with no desire to change…)

- The Streaming option also offers multiple networking mechanisms, including an e-Cafe, group chats and direct messages, where you can reach out to share sweat and tears with your fellow Bootcampers, and prominent figures in the Industry and Academia.

(No?) More!

If you have (wisely) decided not to enroll, please do not read the 1,000’s of reviews, or you may end up changing your mind.

But maybe you just couldn’t wait to get your comfortable online seat. If so, we will wait for you, fearless for both you and us, ready to hear you screaming “enough!”, only to then hear you scream “more!”

Ciao!

Good luck Attilio, I'm sure it will be another fantastic week (and no one likes Manhattan in the August heat!)
