AT&T launches "Cherish Serenity"

AT&T launches "Cherish Serenity" an industry first radar device, capable of detecting emergency conditions and monitoring people who are at risk of fall. This device uses a combination of AT&T cellular connectivity , Cherish's radar & AI technology to detect fall, body position, biometrics and movement via radar without any cameras or wearable trackers. It can even sense for people in multiple rooms though walls, say you can place this in your hall and detect peoples movement in all the rooms.

Aimed at older generations this device is simple to operate and doesn't need much configuration other than plugging it to power source. These are now available to enterprise customers like nursing homes and senior living facilities; cost isn't revealed yet. As many countries today are seeing an increasing number of old population such technology could help people.

Apple's new No-fee savings account to offer over 4% interest

苹果 is aggressively pushing into new avenues , in latest they announced that Users who sign up will see their Daily Cash rewards from Apple Card purchases, deposited into a savings account that will earn, currently, 4.15%. Users will also be able to add funds directly to the savings account by linking it directly to a bank account. Funds can also be deposited into savings from Apple Cash balances.

This news sent a frenzy as depositors pulled nearly $6bn from 3 US banks . This shows the power Apple holds, it can enter many segments now, will have to wait and see how it will tackle the automotive industry. Apple also opened its store in India and 2 weeks ago started apple pay services in South Korea.

Elon Musk Founded an AI company "X.Al Corp."

Tech news will always be in complete without mentioning Elon. In the recent announcement Elon has created a new AI company called X.AI. Elon had previously warned about Open AI potential and is now building his own. The details are still not out yet but its assumed that this will be an AI aggregator app like Weixin/WeChat or Kakao. Usually Asian countries have worked towards building aggregator apps such as Grab in Singapore, WeChat in China, Kakao Corp , NHN集团 in South Korea. This could be the start of the aggregator app in west ? This comes in tandem with the new subscription services that Twitter rolled out as well. Users can now pay and subscribe particular tweets.

China's CATL unveils condensed matter battery for passenger planes

Battery tech is indeed getting competitive. In recent news Chinese battery giant CATL on Wednesday unveiled condensed matter battery, claiming that this could power passenger aircraft. What is condensed matter battery? Well, not lot was found but, I could see that this method refers to combining material science and condensed matter physics ,i.e finding a solid material that can conduct lithium ions. There is no definite answer for ageing issues in lithium batteries, however recent advances in spectroscopy and simulations have led to certain results. Solid state batteries could be the next holy grail? Need to wait and watch.

SpaceX giant rocket explodes minutes after launch from Texas

All was not well for Elon musk this week as SpaceX 's Starship a giant new rocket exploded minutes after blasting off on its first test flight in Tas as it crashes in Gulf of Mexico. Spaceship is intended to be used for shuttling people between moon and earth, and eventually Mars. NASA has reserved a Starship for its next moonwalking team and rich tourist are already booking lunar flybys.

Musk had given 50-50 chances of the spacecraft reaching the orbit. He stressed that just launching the tower and not blowing the pad would be a win. Thermoacoustic instabilities are a bane in rocket engines, even the great Von Braun struggled with it, in case of Starship there were 33 engines and even a failure of one engine could have derailed the entire spacecraft. This is rocket science and we expected nothing less.
