Top of it they also have garments called whoop bodies where you can install this and do your activity.
My Take : The holy grail of non invasive diagnostics is still up for grabs and many such variations can be seen in near future. What's different for Whoop is they have focused only on health and fitness and not on other aspect such as display , payment, notification etc. This also makes them independent of Android or iOS to a certain extent.
Apple partners with Broadcom to build 5G components in the United States
Apple?announced a multibillion-dollar deal ?with 博通 to build some wireless components in the United States. Under the terms of the agreement, Broadcom will design and build 5G components, including FBAR filters, in USA
In a statement, Apple CEO Tim Cook stated “[Apple] is thrilled to make commitments that harness the ingenuity, creativity, and innovative spirit of American manufacturing. All of Apple’s products depend on technology engineered and built here in the United States, and we’ll continue to deepen our investments in the U.S. economy because we have an unshakable belief in America’s future.”
This deal is part of the previous commitment to American manufacturing Apple announced in 2021 in which it pledged $430 billion to the U.S. economy over a five-year period. Apple says in today’s announcement it’s on track to hit that goal.
My take : This decision looks like is taken from a strategic point of view. The 5G components manufacturing will help US to be self reliant and also for Apple to get better DoD deals. Many countries like UK, India etc. are trying to have similar policy when it comes to 5G.

The research?published ?in?Bioinspiration and Biomimetics,?was designed to gain insights into how real fish interact with fish-like robots.
One fish, swimming alone, encountering a robotic fish impersonator will be wary and tend to avoid the robot, but a group of real fish are more likely to accept the robot as one of their own, and sometimes even abandon other real fish to follow the robot. Those are the findings of engineers from Peking University and China Agricultural University who created a realistic koi fish robot, and placed one or two in a tank with real fish to see how they would respond.?
“Fish do not always swim continuously, but instead have a sliding phase after a series of undulations during which they can observe their surroundings, regain energy, and prepare for the next action,” the paper notes. The swimming energy of the robot had a significant impact on how real fish responded to the robot. Real fish were more attracted to the robot mimic when it swam at high frequency and low speed (with smaller swing).?
My take : These robots could help to understand marine ecology better, these robots could also bring more data from the ocean. The only hazard could be being swallowed by bigger fish which again can give some insights nonetheless.

My Take : Blockchain based authentication can be a game changer since there are many roadblocks for people to circumvent it, the computational power could be huge and thereby not economically feasible , but could quantum computers do it ? Either ways looks like buying a quantum computer to hack a blockchain ecosystem is still not economically feasible.
Brain And Spine Implants Restore Movement in a Man Paralyzed by an Accident
A pair of implants forming a digital bridge between the brain and the spinal cord has enabled a 'test pilot' patient to better stand and walk again, showing promise for an innovation that could one day transform the lives of individuals with paralysis.
One of the implants tested on Gert-Jan sat above his brain, decoding electrical signals that initiated movement. It communicated with another implant connected to the part of the spinal cord responsible for triggering motion in his legs. Together, they're able to bypass the injured section of his cervical spinal cord, wirelessly reestablishing the link between his brain and body.
My take :Key to the system are a series of?artificial intelligence ?algorithms that are able to adapt and learn with user prompting. There by proving yet another application where AI can penetrate and this coupled with a capability to make customizable chips can make huge progress.

My Take : These innovation can solve many problems even on earth , like mountaineers are always at risk of life when they fall into cliffs and many a times can be rescued, such robots could come handy in delivering emergency supplies and establish communication , this could be any hostile environment as well.
AI makes non-invasive mind-reading possible by turning thoughts into text
An AI-based decoder that can translate brain activity into a continuous stream of text has been developed, in a breakthrough that allows a person’s thoughts to be read non-invasively for the first time.
The decoder could reconstruct speech with uncanny accuracy while people listened to a story – or even silently imagined one – using only fMRI scan data.?Previous language decoding systems ?have required surgical implants, and the latest advance raises the prospect of new ways to restore speech in patients struggling to communicate due to a stroke or motor neuron disease.
My Take : This is humongous, imagine thoughts getting typed and then another step of making texts into video. Imagine masterful novelist can now make his own movies , such disruptive , apart from all the medical advantages these can disrupt a lot of avenues in VR as well.

Garmin (and several other wearables) do this ... at least the latest versions of several Garmin watches track these parameters fairly accurately I think - in addition to tracking activities. As an active amateur athlete, I'd rather have one device to help me all my tracking and training instead of wearing more than 1.
