Around the Globe by Khloe with a K

My 11 year old daughter was given a school assignment where she had to use several prepositions in a poem. One would think it would make the writing awkward with words she had to use. I may be bias, but I think it did just the opposite and I feel compelled to share her writing.

She told me about the assignment and I asked her to read it to me (while I was multi-tasking as most mothers do!). She quickly read through it like it was just another assignment she was able to complete. I stopped in my tracks and said, "Khloe, this is fantastic!"

(Sshhh...she doesn't want me to share, but how can I not? This message is for all to see <3)

I keep asking her what she is going to write her first book about, she just laughs. Her writing always impresses me. Oh! She also designed the cover, I LOVE it!

Above the treetops, below the oceans, among the meadows, there’s no commotion. With colors like yellow, blue and purple too, the world’s always offering something to you.

Fall and winter, summer, spring, seasons within some worldly things. Before you close your eyes to sleep, beyond the snowy mountain peak, see the things the world will keep.

The world has so much to offer and see, so look around and be filled with glee. From jungles to deserts and oceans to plains, the choices you make are absolutely insane.

The lands you see are all so near, so take the chance and don’t steer clear. Above and beyond is what we try to do, so stay happy, don’t be blue.

Between, behind, and through it all, we solve our problems, even if we fall. Flowers and trees, bugs and bees, things in nature that go as we please.

Up, down and around, so many things in the world that can be found. Around the globe you’ll find these things in every corner and bird that sings.

So look real close and you will see, around the globe there is a key. This key is love, hope, and grace so make it count and embrace.
