Around the Bases 4/27

Welcome back- it was an awful week for the industry, as we saw another round of layoffs at ESPN. Getting the word back in 2020 was tough, but the lessons I learned after it went down helped me out more than I could have imagined. For those who were called this week, remember that there is another chapter for you somewhere. The value and identity you created there is yours, not theirs. You'll feel all the feels: anger, confusion, etc. Take some time for yourself, breathe a little, and understand the freedom you now have may unlock some things you may have never discovered otherwise.

This week's Something to Watch is a bit of a trend hop, but still so worthy. The Bucks were eliminated by the Heat last night, and Giannis Antetokounmpo offered a lot of life lessons postgame.

This week's Something to Read is a book from Action Bronson, "F*ck it, I'll Start Tomorrow: A True Story". Need a boost to get yourself going? It might just be here.

This week's Something to Listen To is from a podcast I thought was pretty cool "Creative Pep Talk". Lots of interesting episodes, this is one I felt might get your energy flowing.
