Around the Bases 1/19
Welcome back!! I hope everyone has had a good start to the new year as we get into what I hope to be a big 2023. To the regulars, I appreciate the time you spend here- the growth of the community continues and you all play a part in that. To the new members- thanks for checking this out, and i hope everyone finds something inside here that is helpful.
I got a great Christmas present from my daughter this year- a puzzle. I hadn't done one in a long time, but did enjoy them when I was a youngster. I used to tell the folks learning how to produce shows back in the day that the most fun thing about that was arranging the pieces at the start of the day in a certain order, then smashing them to smithereens during our shows, and rebuilding them on the fly as the nightly events unfolded. Puzzles require patience- as does the path you choose for whatever you are looking for professionally or personally. Deciding what you want will lay out a clearer path, but realizing that anything worthwhile will take some time (gotta shout out the legendary Debbie Millman for that piece of advice- see below). Yes, these days patience is in short supply, but knowing that you will need some may make walking the path you want a little easier.
This week's Something to Watch comes from a TED talk featuring Debbie Millman- this is a decent watch related to what I wrote above- great stuff that I'm sure will help some of you.
This week's Something to Read comes from a favorite of mine, author Jen Sincero. Her "Badass" series is awesome- and here is another one that could make a difference for you.
This week's Something to Listen To is an episode from the Daily Boost podcast. Most of the episodes are short, but very effective for a lift that we all need from time to time. It's been around since 2006, and Scott Smith has a lot to offer- this is just the latest episode.
Here are the Top 10 roles I saw this week- I am ringing the bell with the first few for our team in Stamford with CBS Sports. Things are ramping up and we have a few roles worth exploring. The first 4 posts are with our soccer crew, and anyone interested in a PA role, our HQ Sports team is also looking for candidates, but I am not posting those. Reach out to me here on LinkedIn for more information. I may have a connection or 2 at the other places, and you can also reach out to me at [email protected] as well.

That'll do it for another week here at ATB, so to coin a phrase- here's the pitch...
If you are looking for someone who will use a unique combination of industry knowledge and a personal approach to help you or someone you know weave your way into and through the sports media landscape- we should talk. The world of content in that space is exploding and whether you are looking for something new or some tips to improve your spot at where you are, please check out my website below and see what we may be able to do for each other. I'd love to set up a free consultation call to get things started.
