Around the Bases 1/18
Welcome back! Thanks for taking the time here this and every week- the community keeps getting bigger and your support means a lot. For those looking for something new, I saw so many roles posted this week- there is a LOT out there, so act accordingly and start exploring.
I recently did something I haven't in a long time- listened to a record (An Innocent Man- Billy Joel) on an actual record player. I had no idea they were out there and it was great to see something so simple make a comeback. There is always some inspiration in a comeback story, so if you entertain any thoughts about your value shrinking over time (you shouldn't), think of the record player. It still has a place in our world despite not being the latest, greatest tech ever. Know that your worth never expires. Maybe you have to find a new way to get it out there, but stand your ground and believe there is a place for who you are and what you can do.
This week's Something to Watch is for the "Survivor" fans here. Noelle Lambert was on Season 43, lasting 19 of the 26 days. A paralympian and a great motivational speaker, and she tells her story here. Yes, awesome!
This week's Something to Read is a great article I ran into last week. ?? Melissa Hughes, Ph.D. is a great follow here and this is just one of her offerings from her blog, which is worth checking out as well.
The Good Life Project gives us this week's Something to Listen To. This episode features Brad Stulberg (another great follow here) who shares his thoughts on change, and how it can be good for you.
Here are the Top 10 roles I saw this week with the first 5 with our team at Paramount (lots going on in the News department). I can get you right into the process for those spots, and I may have a way or 2 into the other jobs posted below. It was tough to weed the others out- there is a lot out there as 2024 has started!

I have said it twice here this week already- there is a LOT going on in our industry as the new year has kicked off with a bang. If you are in need of someone to get things in motion (resume, LinkedIn profile), or to get a vibe on how you stack up against the competition (resume reels for on air talent or content creators), or some coaching tips on whatever obstacles you may face, we should talk. With over 2 decades in the sports media business, I have worked with and learned from the best our industry has to offer, and I can share what I know with you. All it takes is a visit to my website below and an email to [email protected] to set things in motion. I have helped hundreds of sports media professionals during my time, and I know I can help you.
That's it for this week, but before we go, final shout outs to those starting something new (you know who you are!). Thanks again for your time and any mentions you have made to get the word out about what is going on here. Producing this is one of the highlights of my week, and I'm glad to see it is helping others. See you next week!
