Army Awards Joint Tactical Terminal-Next Generation for 53 systems

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, MD – The U.S. Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, awarded a delivery order valued at $5.4M to Leonardo DRS on September 27, 2023. Leonardo DRS will be responsible for delivering 53 Joint Tactical Terminal-Next Generation (JTT-NG) systems to support Army Customers.

“We are excited to continue providing JTT-Next Generation systems into the hands of the Warfighter. With modernized components, these upgraded terminals provide greater capability to meet current and future operational needs,” said Aladrian C. Wetzel, Product Lead for JTT.

JTT resides on Joint host platforms and serves as the primary radio communications component of the Joint Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS) enterprise enabling Warfighter access to tactical intelligence, and indication and Warning (I&W) information. JTT securely disseminates critical battlespace awareness data globally in near real-time (NRT) via Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Satellite Communications (SATCOM) broadcasts to commanders, planners and Warfighters.

Congratulations on JTT award. As member acquisition team (Contracting Officer) in the mid 90s got to work with great leader Mr. Eddie Bair and a super team led by Chris Keller. When you are frustrated with the system remember great leaders and Acquisition teams make a difference now, and for years to come. Nice job JTT team!

Excited about the increased capability and reduced SWAP this provides to the Joint user. Well done Aladrian and team!
