Armenian Queens

Queens have played vital roles throughout Armenian history. They have not only been faithful spouses and close supporters of the kings, but often their worthy advisors. Armenian wise and prudent queens were highly influential in the critical periods of the country's history and advocated causes as women’s education, freedom and equality, even in the middle ages. Additionally, they were the primary promoters of cultural values.

Queen Vanuhi became a symbol of the Armenian unity back in 6th century BC.
