Armed Forces: The pillar of our society.

Armed Forces: The pillar of our society.

SOLDIER, another piece from this amazing voice.

Not just that things have moved from being bad to worse, one of the pillars of our society, rather every society, receives little or no appreciation. That a country's security and defense is weak or strong totally depends on this admirable defense force. They happen to be the ones we turn to when we are in trouble, or find ourselves in emergency situations. They always struggle to keep awake just to be at our beck and call. But in turn, they receive little or no appreciation, speak less of respect. These men and women in question also leave their families behind, ever ready to lay down their lives in defense for our beloved Nigeria.

Despite this courageous sacrifice & as scary as it is, they are still not commended for their bravery or even not applauded for their sweet discomfort.

During the war, safety was being supplicated on their behalf, and when they return, some recognition would be made, which would be talked about for a few times and it wears off.

As life threatening as their job description is, the only pats on their backs are their rank increment and the ceremonies that comes afterwards. They always appear in their well ironed and neat uniform, wearing beautiful smiles, covering up the stress they actually undergo, armed to the teeth and quite frightened of if they could be next. Always watching their colleagues being shot or even worse bleed to death due to lack of urgent medical attention, which devastates, depresses and messes up their mental health, that most of them become depressants addicts, just to maintain sanity and delete those horrible scenes from their head.

They are rather perceived as wicked and lack conscience especially when they try maintaining order, which is for the good of every body.

They lack funds, sometimes, the low rank officers are being underpaid, how are they expected to provide for their families? or worse when they are being lost in the battle field.

Most of them barely see their families, and even worse spend almost half of their lives on the road without even going home, yet, yet and still yet, they are not appreciated.

These set of people, are also human beings, they are no different from us.

A big shout out to these superhumans, who on a daily, lay down their lives for our protection.

Una too sabi abeg!

Please give a soldier a tight hug today!
