ARKit, great but not taking over the world just yet

We've had a huge buzz around ARKit this last period, the possibilities, precision of the tech, the really great concepts already created. 

I truly believe ARKit has set a new bar on quality and possibilities in Augmented Reality. 

The sky seems to be the limit here, there is only one 'but', that overshadows the sheer joy that my inner nerd is feeling, and that one 'but' is Compatibility. 

From a business point of view, I could not advise this tech to a client, because the solution I would be giving, would only be applicable to the IOS side of the users, dropping all commercial value for our Android community. 

ARKit competitor Vuforia does not see ARKit as a threat and it is understandable why. With alternatives on the market who do support all platforms like Vuforia & Wikitude, I whink ARKit has some grand hurdles to overcome, before it can gain true commercial momentum.
