Argentina announces huge investment in airports

Argentina's government will allocate an investment of 22 thousand 223 million pesos to improve its airport infrastructure.


The announcement of these resources was made by the Ministry of Transport of the South American country, with the aim of doubling in four years the number of passengers it receives.


Another key objective is to develop a greater capacity to handle more air cargo and thus to increase the export of local products.


The investment, which comes into force until 2019, according to the Ministry, will generate about 12 thousand direct jobs.


According to the local press, resources will be distributed: 18 000 709 million for the renovation of 19 airports, including Ezeiza and Aeroparque; thousand 814 million to improve operations areas, and a thousand 700 million to improve connectivity throughout the country.


William Dietrich, Minister of Argentine Transport said that investment in infrastructure will include the expansion or construction in some cases, passenger terminals, repaving runways and landing and the construction of new control towers, shares ending with a ban of 30 years where she was not invested in the airport category.
