I love the holiday season, that special time of year when we all get together with the loved ones and celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza or whatever our religious or cultural preference. This is a time of year when we get to say thank you to all of those that have helped, supported and cheered us on. For me, this means shopping and searching for unique items at local boutiques, small grocers and department stores. But gifts can be expensive and many people unfortunately focus so much on the gift itself, that the gesture and the motivation get lost.
