#aRepurposedLife…Opportunities are Everywhere and I Can Prove It!

A year ago my wife and I were at an estate auction and saw a broken, concrete water fountain. When the item came up for sale, we were the only bidders and got it for almost nothing. Flash forward to last week…and I was staring at that fountain, which we now use as a planter in our backyard. As I sat there, I began to wonder, “How many people see themselves as broken and having no value, rather than--- for what they could become?

Too often, identities are tied up in what people do, rather than what they are made of, just like the fountain. Unfortunately, when you think that way, it’s almost impossible to see opportunities that would allow you to repurpose your life into something incredible. One of the fastest ways to change your thinking (aside from changing your beliefs) is to adjust your speech. In order to make a change, you’ll need to stop saying things like:

  I have limited skills, education, talents, gifts---NO ONE is hiring for what I do---I’m overqualified---I only know how to do one thing---You can’t teach an old dog new tricks---I hate technology---There’s nothing new under the sun---The market is already saturated---I’m too old, young, tall, short---I’ve missed my opportunity---It’s already been done---I’m comfortable…

The fact is if you’ll change your speech, it will alter your thinking. You’ll give yourself a chance to be a planter instead of a broken fountain, and the world will offer up more opportunities than you have time to address.

Okay, so you’re not a believer…how about if I prove it. What if I told you that after just a few minutes, I found a “space” that is perfect for someone who is ready to repurpose their life, regardless of what they use to "DO" and they simply need to ACT on the idea?

We live in an age where technology and social media drive the train, and yet if you were to search TWITTER, you would find only two accounts, but NO posts with the hashtag #aRepurposedLife. That’s crazy! I’m sure it can be monetized and the market is enormous.
