Aren't we special?

So our new Oculus Rift Dev edition is on it's way! We're the lucky ones, with the exception of premier partners, we're one of the early ones to get our hands on the new Rift (The Verge has a good article describing this). Interest in VR is absolutely taking off, we're seeing A LOT of interest in VR development of all stripes. From Samsung Gear VR, Google cardboard, HTC Vive, and Oculus. The momentum started off a little slow, but now it's rocketing off. Just anecdotally, looking at the available VR specific content in Steam for the Vive, we're seeing a veritable explosion of content becoming available. The early adopters are paying a pretty penny for that content, it's a premium for some pretty stripped down experiences in some cases. But I think those folks on the left side of the adoption "chasm" as willing to pay it to see what the scoop is. These are the same folks willing to watch Netflix with a Gear VR while their partner sits "alone" on the same couch wearing a mixed expression of disgust and rejection. ;)
We are definitely excited to start doing a little A/B testing and the "Coke challenge" between the new Rift and the HTC Vive. Two man enter, one man leave, the Thunderdome is ready!
