There aren't enough hours in the day...

There aren't enough hours in the day...

Ever have the feeling of falling? Falling further and further behind...with the to-do list getting bigger and BIGGER?? Wake Up, Alice! It doesn't have to be this way.

When appropriate, I share stories of success...(and the messier and more frequent journey of fear/falling/lessons) with clients.

In divulging a belief about time that I've struggled to release, I've found a pattern. Virtually every single sales person I work with raises their hand and nods agreement that they too have battled this pervasive belief- "There aren't enough hours in the day!"

We all have our own unique beliefs, judgments, fears, and assumptions to work through. They are based on our individual experiences, upbringing, interactions, and psychological makeup. But while we are all different, there are certain patterns that emerge in the sales arena and as human beings.

My Story- I grew up in a home where I heard how hard you have to work to get ahead. I heard that money doesn't grow on trees and that if that other person had a lot of money and it seemed easy, they must have done something 'shady' to get it. Success comes by working longer and harder than anyone else.

I had big goals and dreams. Visions of doing great things to help my loved ones and others in the world. BUT I had ingested the concept that success is hard won. That it's very difficult to get enough for yourself, let alone others. There just AREN'T ENOUGH HOURS IN THE DAY to do what you need to reach those goals...

And so- I spent years sabotaging my success.

Then I spent years doing behavioral research to discover a way to release old beliefs and choose new ones. It's a beautiful thing that I'll share with you one day. (Takes longer than a LI article! But happy to chat deeper if you like- connect with me here or take a peek at The Leader Within mastermind)

What about YOU? Have you felt the pull of an underlying belief directing your decisions and actions? Have you maybe even felt this very same one??

Is it working for you? It may be. Or maybe it used to but isn't any longer. The key is to become conscious of those beliefs that are below the surface. When you take the time to become aware of and even challenge them, you gain FREEDOM and POWER to make your own choices based on what results you want to achieve.

It's TRANSFORMATIVE!

Important message. We all have 24 hours. The question tends to be how clear we are on our real priorities vs. just focusing on what we think we should do.

If you start with a belief and hold it strongly, you're likely to make it a reality — whether it has to be or not. I prefer to say, "I only have so many hours — how do I make the most of them?"

Recently, I've noticed that I'm not as consistent or disciplined with my work as I was in the past. I can get distracted a little easier, and I think I'm defining myself as more casual and less structured, which is probably working against me.
