Arena Review #45 - Levien Gymnasium - New York, NY
Levien Gymnasium is the Lions home court for Men's and Women's basketball and is located in New York, NY. The venue seats 2,500 and opened in 1974. Part of the Marcellus Hartley Dodge Physical Fitness Center, Levien Gum opened in 1974 as a replacement for the old University Gym, which is still used for intramural sports. Levien Gymnasium is a great small venue to take in a Division 1 College Basketball game. The crowd was ecstatic earlier today as the Columbia Lions hosted the Pennsylvania Quakers in a Ivy League game. The Quakers led the Lions for the the majority of the game and up winning by the score of 76-67. The Lions were led by Mike Smith's 21 points while the Quakers' AJ Brodeur had 24 points.
I would highly recommend visiting Levien Gymnasium if you are ever in New York, NY and are looking to take in a high quality Division 1 basketball game as Levien Gymnasium is a great venue. Every seat in Levien Gymnasium has you up close to the action on the court and there isn’t a bad seat to be had. I will give Levien Gymnasium 4.5 out of 5 stars as the small venue was electric and the fans were very passionate and engaged as well. I am looking forward to visiting several arenas in New York next weekend. Until then.
