Arena Review #35 - Atlantic Union Bank Center - Harrisonburg, Virginia
Atlantic Union Bank Center is the Dukes' Home Arena for Men's Basketball and is located in Harrisonburg, VA. The venue seats 8,500 and opened in 2020. Atlantic Union Bank Center was the host of the 2021 CAA men's basketball tournament . The conference moved the men's basketball tournament to Harrisonburg from the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington, D.C. as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic . The tournament was won by Drexel University . Atlantic Union Bank Center is a great medium-sized venue to take in a Division 1 College Basketball game. The crowd was ecstatic last night as the James Madison Dukes played the Marshall Thundering Herd in a Sun Belt Conference Game. The Dukes led the Thundering Herd for the majority of the game and pulled away in the 2nd Half to win by the final score of 67-52. The Dukes' Terrence Edwards Jr. had 20 points and 5 assists while the Thundering Herd's Kamdyn Curfman had 23 points and 1 rebound in the defeat.
I would highly recommend visiting Atlantic Union Bank Center if you are ever in Harrisonburg, Virginia and are looking to take in a high quality Division 1 Basketball game as Atlantic Union Bank Center is a great venue. Every seat at Atlantic Union Bank Center has you up close to the action on the court and there isn't a bad seat to be had. I will give Atlantic Union Bank Center 4.5 out of 5 stars as the medium-sized venue was electric and the fans were very passionate and engaged as well. I am looking forward to visiting several Arenas in Pennsylvania next weekend. Until then.
