Arena Review #34 - Tom Gola Arena - Philadelphia, PA
Tom Gola Arena of LaSalle University is the Explorers home court for Men's and Women's basketball and is located in Philadelphia, PA. The venue seats 3,400 and opened in 1998. The Arena is named after Tom Gola, a Philadelphia basketball player and coach who is in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Tom Gola Arena is a great small venue to take in a Division 1 College Basketball game. The crowd was ecstatic yesterday afternoon as the LaSalle Explorers hosted the Morgan State Bears in a NonConference game. The Explorers led the Bears for the majority of a close game and finally pulled away late and ended up winning by the final score of 85-68. The Explorers were led by Isiah Deas' 31 points while the Bears Troy Baxter, Jr. had 15 points.
I would highly recommend visiting Tom Gola Arena if you are ever in Philadelphia, PA and are looking to take in a high quality Division 1 basketball game as Tom Gola Arena is a great venue. Every seat in Tom Gola Arena has you up close to the action on the court and there isn’t a bad seat to be had. I will give Tom Gola Arena 4.5 out of 5 stars as the small venue was electric and the fans were very passionate and engaged as well. I am looking forward to visiting several arenas in Washington DC later this month. Until then.
