Calling all Artists, Activists, and Archivists!
"As a contributor to the creative fabric of this community, how will your work and efforts be remembered in the face of Denver's growth and change? Take part in this interactive assembly with multi-panel discussions, and creative breakout sessions, all focused on engaging you with the radical act of archiving, the nature of art archives, arts and cultural equity, and the power to shape the legacy of Denver's creative community. Breakout and creative sessions will include a sound recording booth provided by Meep Records, a D.I.Y zine station provided by the Denver Zine Library, an after party at Dateline featuring an exhibit of
The Archives for Artists assembly will also introduce the Arthyve archive, a crowd-sourced memory bank comprised of artists’ self-curated time capsules. Artists working in any medium will be invited to donate their images, art, words, sketches, music and more to the artist time capsule project, helping to build an archive of our city’s creative pulse, leaving their mark for future generations. Through this project, you, Denver’s artists, will have the opportunity to decide how you are represented and to share your creative processes and influences by hand picking which materials enter your self-curated time capsule. This act of appraisal and preservation has the power to enrich our collective history with the visual narratives and stories of artists that are often underrepresented. "
