What have been some specific career goals or career milestones in your journey that stand out in your experience? Are there any new goals you are working towards?
Throughout my career spanning over 11 years, I've ventured into various streams and verticals. Commencing as a .NET developer in 2012, my journey in the IT industry has been nothing short of a roller coaster. An early career milestone emerged when I was tasked with development and deploying applications in production, giving me a taste of Configuration Management as it was referred to then.?
My interest took a significant turn as I became more captivated by the intricacies of managing and running apps/web apps on servers and the overall functioning of infrastructure management. Since then, I've contributed to numerous significant milestones, diversifying my skills and adding value to the teams I've been a part of. Although development and testing remained core aspects of my responsibilities, my interest in DevOps activities prompted a career shift, leading me to become a DevOps Engineer early on.?
From Configuration Management to being a Build & Release Engineer, DevOps Engineer, and Cloud Architect, I've covered a spectrum of roles within the DevOps and Cloud domain. Notably, I achieved implementing robust Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines that significantly reduced deployment times, elevating software quality. The relentless creation of CI/CD pipelines streamlined development processes, empowering the team to deliver features and updates with increased speed and efficiency. As CI/CD gained industry importance, my efforts in automating these processes became a vital devops task.?
Another milestone involved orchestrating the successful migration of a complex infrastructure to the cloud, utilizing tools like Terraform and Docker. This initiative enhanced scalability, reliability, and resulted in cost savings for the organization. Working with a service based MNC, the client sought a comprehensive overhaul of the infrastructure, moving it to the cloud and containerizing the entire application components. My efficient efforts in automating the infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) and containerizing applications with Docker modernized and streamlined the backend and platform apps.?
A pivotal milestone occurred when I joined my current organization, exposing me to intriguing real-world use cases, particularly delving into the security component of the DevOps ecosystem. Managing applications at scale, ensuring efficient operation with zero downtime, and maintaining stable infrastructure, secure data, and continuous application functionality presented an exciting challenge. Our achievements were acknowledged by AWS through a case study, recognizing us for implementing one of the best DevSecOps use cases.?
Recognizing the importance of development and database expertise for efficient DevOps engineering, I utilized my prior experience to oversee backend and platform teams, managing databases at scale. Another notable achievement involved leading my database team in migrating our production database workload from on premise to RDS, executed with minimal downtime and zero application errors.?
