Would you rather run twenty £50k jobs next year, or four at £250k?
Now both scenarios would give you a £1m a year business, but what would give you more headaches, twenty clients or just four? If you want to grow your business with less stress, you need to be targeting the bigger projects, but where do you find them?
It’s going to be difficult to go directly to clients for that value of project as their first port of call is to an architect and most high-value projects are already sitting on your local architect’s desk. They’re constantly working on jobs of this size and are desperate for builders they can trust to partner with. So where do you find architects? Well, the best place to look is on LinkedIn. A good friend of mine Tyron Giuliani has created an awesome LinkedIn strategy to attract your ideal clients and I've adapted it so you can easily find architects to send you the tenders you need.
John, who has been a client of mine for some time, has just tried our new architect attractor strategy. In less than two weeks he gained a £700k tender from an architectural firm in London he'd wanted to work with for years. Tyron, who has worked for some huge companies, has created a strategy to help you navigate through the intricacies of LinkedIn to find and attract architects.

Initially, you need to make the most of your LinkedIn profile and leverage this to attract architects. You need a good photo of yourself, because people buy people, and the personal touch is very important. Next you need to show your logo, or a photo of a project that you’re proud of, as the banner image at the top, this identifies your company and make you easier to deal with. Remember the first thing they see on your page identifies you, so detail the projects you’ve completed your area of expertise and your key services. If you do ‘new builds’ that’s what you put up, and you also have to put the value of jobs that you are looking for.
Once you’re happy with the quality of your profile page, you can start searching for architects that are active on LinkedIn, the one’s that keep it up to date. You can also narrow down the field by searching for specific locations. You’re looking for 10 to 30 architects to contact and you comment on their recent posts. If they’ve been promoted, congratulate them, if they’ve just finished a major job, compliment them, and always say something about working with them in the future.
We’ll cover all of this, and much more, in the Architect Attractor. If you would like to know more, book a call:?
