The ARAD. The best AR15 platform available.
The ARAD is a new lightweight, multi-caliber assault rifle based on the AR15 platform two variants: 5.56X45mm and 300 BLK. It presents several advantages – accuracy, reliability, lightweight, easy to fire, modular, and adapted to the fighter and combat environment.
Build to support special forces and missions
The ARAD is designed to address the needs of special units and infantry forces. As such, it offers several cutting-edge features that facilitate operational flexibility. The rifle has several unique benefits: Fully ambidextrous, a short-stroke piston firing mechanism with three-position gas regulators, ensuring Reliable and smooth operation in any environmental condition.
A two-stage trigger provides fast and accurate shooting, a hard-anodized monolithic aluminum MIL-STD 1913 accessory rail in the upper receiver, and an MLOK system on 3,6,9 o’clock. IWI ARAD is equipped with a Picatinny rail to enable the use of various optics and other attachments. The Picatinny rail is an integral part of the upper receiver of the rifle.
In addition, Different length M-LOK rails at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock are positioned along with the handguard. It includes a telescopic buttstock which allows the users to adjust the length individually for their needs.
The challenge: complex theaters
According to Ronen Hamudot, VP Marketing and Sales at SK Group, “IWI strives to continuously adapt its products to the needs that arise from the field. Today’s complex theaters created a demand for assault rifles chambered for different types of ammunition for different mission categories.
“For this reason, for the past two years, we have invested considerable resources in expanding our range of products so that every client can find the weapon that precisely meets their requirements.”
The lightweight ARAD, weighing only 2.85 kg, is available with barrel lengths of 292mm (11.5”) and 368mm (14.5”) and will soon be offered with barrel lengths of 419 mm (16.5″) and 508 mm (20″) as well and 9/5″ in 300 BLK. IWI plans to provide additional calibers in the future.
Effective in specific mission
“Interestingly, the rifle also has a quick-detachable barrel, which can be replaced by a user in a matter of seconds,” according to the firearm blog. “This would presumably allow users to change barrel lengths and calibers for specific mission parameters. The rifle is pictured in both black and FDE finishes.”
According to? all outdoor, “There is no question that the ARAD, currently offered in select and automatic fire, is mainly designed for export. This means IWI can compete in military and law enforcement procurement contracts all over the world of which many favor the AR platform.”
“The rifle feels very solid in hand, and the handguard, upper and lower receivers have no play, unlike on many affordable AR15s. The barrel is cold-hammer-forged and made in-house on Austrian GFM machines”, continues the all outdoor report.
“[…] Representative from IWI assured me that the rifle is built using the highest quality materials possible and it maintains accuracy of 1 MOA or better using quality ammunition. As the rifle features an aluminum monolithic upper receiver, it can withstand Thousands of rounds fired even in fully automatic mode.”
20,000 bullets and still accurate
The ARAD rifle is the lightest in its category and very accurate. Its recoil is minimal, thanks to the unique barrel with internal chrome plating. The barrel is tested in harsh conditions and maintains accuracy even after 20,000 bullets, compared to 6,000 typically in other platforms.
In addition, ARAD is one of the most ergonomic tools on the market. It fits the left and right shooter – the safety, mag release, last round bolt catch, bolt release, and the charging handle are on both sides. Along with an adjustable buttstock, the ARAD rifle is suitable for any shooter and any mission.
The ARAD rifle has an advanced and improved trigger system with two stages that allow the shooter better control of the weapon during firing, which means – greater accuracy and improvement in firing speed.
Design for maximum fit
The ARAD rifle meets the American standard (MIL-STD810) and NATO standard for small arms, including accuracy, resistance to sand, mud, water, heat, cold conditions, and more.
As mentioned, one can install various accessories on the Picatinny rail or doing so by removable and modular aluminum clasps using the M-LOK method. Moreover, the ARAD supports a 40mm UBGL grenade launcher and up to five Quick Detach points for maximum fit.
