The ARA Foundation: The Heart of the Rental Community

I have been with the American Rental Association (ARA) for nearly 15 years and have had the opportunity to meet so many amazing members, who are the backbone of the equipment and event rental industry. During my tenure with ARA, I’ve been fortunate to work in different roles and support members in various ways, but I feel like I have found a “home” with the ARA Foundation.

I always knew about the Foundation programs, but until I came into the role of director, Foundation programs, I didn’t have a full appreciation of how this philanthropic organization contributed to this industry. In all honesty, this is the most rewarding position I could possibly imagine. Each day I feel that my work makes a positive impact in assisting rental businesses in our industry.

When I hear the voices of grateful students who have received scholarships or those who are struggling in times of need following a natural disaster, it is incredibly moving. Knowing that these industry members turn to the ARA Foundation for assistance – and that we’re ready to help – is gratifying.

The work of the ARA Foundation doesn’t stop with scholarships and disaster relief – there are so many more programs available to industry members. Consider this:

·??????$1.1 million has been awarded to students pursuing a career that supports the industry

·??????$339,000 in aid was provided to rental businesses and employees suffering from natural disasters

·??????175 businesses have received reimbursement for employee training to help build necessary skills for our industry members

·??????Nearly 1,200 members have benefited from ARA Foundation sponsored educational conferences

·??????More than 250 rental companies have assisted with projects that made improvements in their communities, impacting thousands of people

·??????Over 100 industry members are furthering their skill set by participating in the ARA Foundation mentoring program

You might be thinking how this is all possible and my response is “YOU”. You are the people who have created this industry. You are the people who are passionate about industry growth and preservation. You are the people who propel the industry forward. You are the people who believe that industry engagement is essential to their business. You are the people who strive to train and develop your employees. You are the people who stand up and help industry peers when they need it the most.

YOU are the people who give and support the ARA Foundation. Without your generous contributions, we cannot sustain the support that the industry needs and deserves.
