AR: Augmented Reality or Apple Reality?

Imagine a phone that can take a 3D selfie and magically create a photo-realistic 3D avatar of you. Imagine all the games that can use your 3D avatar and make you a part of the game or virtual worlds, to play or to interact with your family and friends (actually their 3D avatars). How would it feel if your facial emotions are incorporated into the experience. Imagine trying different clothes and accessories on your photo-realistic 3D avatar and buy them if you like them with a simple tap? Imagine being a part of virtual worlds without covering your face with a big black Oculus or Google Cardboard box and isolating yourself from the rest of the real world around you.
Gaming is still the most popular activity on iPhones. With all the acquisitions that Apple made over the past three to four years around facial recognition, rendering, augmented reality and 3D camera technologies - I think this is AR or "Apple Reality" built into a future iPhone.

8 年As long as the game isn't a "first-person shooter", I like it. I think it would bother me to see someone I recognize's blood splattering across the screen.

8 年As always, Sanjeev, you seem to understand where the "puck" will be. Would love to read more of your analysis!
