April’s Import of the Year picture is headlined by Mike Singletary’s climb to the two spot, as Sim Bhullar continues to lead the pack. Here is April’s edition of the P. LEAGUE+ Porsche Import of the Year Ladder.
Qualifier: import players that play at least 20 games, voted by basketball media and fans.?
1. Singh Bhullar 25.43 PPG 20.76 RPG 2.43 BPG
Continuing his dominance in both the scoring and rebounding columns, Sim Bhullar remains a force to be reckoned with. Looking past traditional counting stats, advanced analytics also makes his case for Import of the Year; specifically, his league high 44.2 PER offers a glimpse of his effectiveness on both ends and his mind boggling 30-35 game against the Kaohsiung Steelers is just the icing on top.?

2. Michael Anthony Singletary 21.89 PPG 12.5 RPG 4.67 APG
Mike Singletary had one of his best months in March, averaging 22.75 PPG in that stretch. More importantly, his solid play contributed to the team’s 7 game win streak and 5-1 record. Singletary also had his statement game against the Steelers in March, putting up an impressive 26-16-12. While the Taipei Fubon Braves have cooled down a bit in recent weeks, don’t count out Singletary making a late season push in both the award and win column.?

3. Thomas Welsh 17.5 PPG 17.94 RPG 1.5 BPG

While seeing a minor statistical dip in March, Thomas Welsh continues to impress on both ends of the floor. Despite only cracking 20+ points twice in the month, Welsh is consistently a net positive for the team; part of reason for his relative modest scoring output is also due to only exceeding 20 USG% twice in the same time span, yet his 37.1 PER suggests he shouldn’t be overlooked in the Import of the Year race.?

4. Nicholas David Jordan Faust 23.72 PPG 9.22 RPG 2.33 APG
Nick Faust has proven to be a lethal offensive threat with his shot creation off the dribble and long range weaponry, and March has been much the same for the Maryland product. Faust is averaging a solid 25 PPG for the month, and tied his own single game scoring record of 47 points against the Steelers. Besides his obvious scoring prowess, Faust is also a force in the open court, jumping passing lanes for easy scoring opportunities.?

5. Devin Ray Robinson 24.47 PPG 13.05 RPG 2 SPG
While the Taoyuan Pilots’ playoffs hopes are in jeopardy, we shouldn’t underestimate Devin Robinson’s all around solid production all season. Despite a coaching change midseason, Robinson is putting up 23 PPG on over 48% shooting from the field in March; in a lot of cases, Robinson is tasked to be the bail out option when plays fall stagnant, and his ability to create and deliver while contending for the scoring leader is nothing but impressive.?
