April Week 2: The Biltmore to part ways with Hilton and become an independent hotel.

The Biltmore Mayfair has decided to conclude its partnership with 希尔顿全球酒店集团 and transition to operating independently, effective May 1.

Situated on Grosvenor Square in London, the 307-room hotel debuted in 2019 following a £50 million redevelopment of the former Millennium Hotel London Mayfair. Initially introduced as the flagship European location for Hilton's luxury LXR Hotels & Resorts brand, the Biltmore commanded room rates starting from £550 per night.

This shift means that Hilton will no longer have any properties under the LXR Hotels banner in the UK.

According to a statement released on behalf of the Biltmore, the hotel expressed appreciation for the "productive partnership" with Hilton but emphasised the decision to operate independently under the guidance of managing director Vella Ramasawmy. This move aligns with the management team's strategy to enhance the Biltmore brand and expand its proposition following five years of successful operation.

Ramasawmy expressed enthusiasm about overseeing the transition, ensuring a seamless handover both internally and externally while maintaining the hotel's commitment to exceptional guest experiences and service.

Acknowledging the contribution of Hilton to their journey, the Biltmore emphasised that the decision was made with careful consideration to elevate the guest experience and uphold their status as one of London's premier luxury hotels.

As a result of this transition, stays booked beyond May 1 will no longer accumulate Hilton Honors points. Instead, guests will receive competitive loyalty benefits.

The Biltmore offers amenities such as a 24-hour gym, the all-day brasserie Café Biltmore, the steakhouse Grill 88, and a tea lounge. Notably, Jason Atherton initially launched the fine dining restaurant Betterment at the hotel in 2019, later rebranding it as the more casual Café Biltmore post-pandemic. Atherton parted ways with the hotel last year due to disagreements with ownership regarding the restaurant's direction.

Looking ahead, the hotel plans to unveil a partnership on Café Biltmore's terrace this summer, collaborating with Champagne house Veuve Clicquot.

In summary, the Biltmore Mayfair's move to operate independently signifies a pivotal moment for the luxury hotel. Transitioning away from its partnership with Hilton, the Biltmore is set to embark on a new chapter under the guidance of managing director Vella Ramasawmy. With a steadfast commitment to delivering exceptional service and maintaining its esteemed status in London's hospitality scene, the hotel looks forward to a promising future beyond May 1st.
