The Youth Center will transfer the successful Odyssea model in the area of northern Greece, offering young people empowerment, training opportunities and a sustainable pathway to the labor market.

Our courses in Thessaloniki for Kitchen Assistants and Housekeepers have started!

In an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm, our beneficiaries started their vocational training courses. Odyssea, in strategic partnership with Hyatt Regency Thessaloniki, offered "Kitchen Assistant" and "Housekeeping Courses".

The course "Social Media & Digital Marketing" is on the way!

Odyssea Hosted the Kick-Off Meeting for Erasmus+ NEB VET Laber Project

Odyssea proudly hosted the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ New European Bauhaus Label for VET (NEB VET Label) Project on April 15-16 at its premises. Serving as coordinators, we warmly welcomed our esteemed partners from Greece, Norway, Italy, Croatia, and Bulgaria to embark on this exciting journey together.

?The NEB VET Label Project aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • ?Promotion of NEB Values in VET Providers: The project seeks to promote the values and working principles of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) within vocational education and training (VET) providers.

  • Streamlined Assessment Process: Providing an accessible and user-friendly method for VET providers to assess their practices within the NEB framework and obtain the NEB VET Label.

  • Guidance and Best Practices: Offering concrete guidance and sharing best practices to VET providers on how to integrate NEB values into their operations effectively.

  • Pan-European Ecosystem Development: Creating a pan-European ecosystem of VET providers dedicated to promoting NEB values to students and collaborators, fostering collaboration and exchange across borders.

?This ambitious project is co-funded by the European Union reflecting its commitment to supporting innovative initiatives in education and sustainability.

Special Guests at Odyssea

On April 30th, we had the honor of hosting Mrs. Sofia Voultepsi, Deputy Minister of Migration and Asylum, Mr. Heracles Moskoff, General Secretary for Vulnerable Persons and Institutional Protection and Mr. Dimitris Georgiadis, Director of the Office of the General Secretary of Vulnerable Citizens & Institutional Protection for an insightful discussion on integration and empowerment. Joined by our very own CEO, Jai Mexis and Iro Baka, Operations Manager, the meeting was a dynamic exchange of ideas and strategies to ensure equal opportunities for all young people in society.


Delphi Economic Forum

During Piraeus Bank side event “Forging a Society of Equal Opportunities”, Odyssea had the privilege of meeting Mr. Christos Megalou, CEO of Piraeus Bank. We were also grateful to have our work featured in an inspiring video presented at Piraeus Bank's side event. The video showcased the interesting stories of two beneficiaries from the SKILLS 4 ALL initiative, implemented by Odyssea, within the framework of Piraeus Bank’s EQUALL programme.



Academy

Our Ship and Boat Maintenance Courses have started

The "Ship & Boat Maintenance" course offered by the Athina I. Martinou Foundation in partnership with Odyssea aims to equip individuals for careers in the marine tourism industry. The initial training took place at ALS Training Center in Piraeus, where students enthusiastically attended the basic naval training course and practiced on the center's modern simulators.



Hotel Employee: Our courses for Refugee Women Academy

The course "Hotel employee" is part of the Refugee Women Academy that is implemented within the framework of Piraeus Bank's Corporate Social Responsibility programme EQUALL- For a Society of Equal People in collaboration with UNHCR Greece and Odyssea.

Amazing feedback regarding our Job Fair+ Ergasia event!

As we are still in the aftermath of the Job Fair, the kind words of the participants showcase our impact and give us strenght and inspiration to continue our work! We have received great feedback from the Job Fair +Ergasia with 20 participating companies and more than 350 job offers.

Odyssea & YouthSpeak Forum unite their power to give the best career advice!

Stratis Fotellis, Employability Officer and Talent Platform Coordinator at Odyssea, shared his presentation "Shaping Your Career" in the YouthSpeak Forum intending to assist individuals in discovering careers aligned with their skills. The audience consisted of university students, all of whom provided overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Odyssea's programmes presented to homeless individuals in Thessaloniki

On April 10th, Odyssea effectively showcased its programmes to the homeless shelter in Thessaloniki. After the presentation about our vision and services, engaging interviews took place with interested attendees.



Odyssea participated in "Female Entrepreneurship: One Challenge, Many Opportunities" in Thessaloniki

On April 15th, Odyssea presented the new Youth Center in Thessaloniki in the event titled "Women's Entrepreneurship: One Challenge, Many Opportunities”. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Employment of the Municipality of Neapoli-Sykeon, and the General Secretariat for Vocational Education, Training, and Lifelong Learning of the Ministry of Education, Religion, and Sports. We participated in discussions on various captivating topics and exchanged insightful ideas about female entrepreneurship.



Start Your Night Up - SKG Edition Odyssea’s Participation in the panel discussion “Blue is the new Black”

Maria Bliantidou, Community and Development Manager at Odyssea participated in the panel discussion, with Dr. Evaggelos Kosmidis from Loggerhead VC, and Giannis Tsepis from Investing for Purpose. The event was held on 17th of April, by Envolve Entrepreneurship. Particularly intriguing was the BlueBridge project, poised to transform the tourism sector significantly.

It's inspiring to witness the innovation and technology underscored as pivotal elements in shaping the evolution of tourism services!
