April Reads

A mixed set of books this month across 3 formats .... get me.

Audio Books:

How to Argue With a Racist - Adam Rutherford. A fascinating journey through the use and misuse of Genetic science through the ages and how to arm yourself with the information to tackle some standard racist tropes

Greenlights: Raucous stories and outlaw wisdom - Matthew McConaughey. I'm generally not given to 'celeb' biogs but I enjoyed this. He uses quite poetic language which makes the Audiobook (read by him) something of a performance poetry piece at times. If nothing else you find out about an interesting life well-lived.

Ebook:

Mission Possible: A Decade of Living Dangerously - Ash Dykes. This has been in 'currently reading' status for a long time so knuckled down and finished it. Mostly recounting trips across Mongolia and Madagascar, I know a lot more about those places than I did before though I think the book could have been edited down a bit.

Paperbacks:

How to Solve A Murder - Derek and Pauline Tremain. I'm a sucker for these biogs by people in interesting jobs. The topic this time - Forensic Science.

A Mapmaker's Dream: The Meditations of Fra Mauro, Cartographer to the Court of Venice - James Cowan. A Fictionalised telling of the story of the Fra Mauro map
