April News

Welcome to wtv.’s April newsletter! We are excited to bring you a collection of updates and insights to show you how we help our clients engage their global audiences through our innovative platforms and brilliant people.

wtv.’s STREAMSTUDIO technology solutions is now fully integrated into LSEG’s online events platform, SparkLive, which supports companies across their financial calendar, from Results and AGM’s to Roadshows and Capital Market Days. We look forward to working with the London Stock Exchange and its issuers to deliver virtual broadcasts, live on-site production?and pre-recorded creative content to enhance the impact of their events and announcements.

This year’s Earth Day theme, "Planet vs. Plastics," raises awareness about the global health risks of plastic and will help drive the elimination of single-use plastics, push for a UN Treaty on Plastic Pollution and reduce the heavy impact of fast fashion.?

At wtv., our commitment to the UN Global Compact isn't just a checkbox—it's built into everything we do. We embody its 10 principles, which guides our sustainability journey every step of the way.?

It's a set of principles that runs deep within our company, stemming from the commitments of our founders who created wtv. from the Greenpeace Film Unit over 30 years ago.

All of our virtual platforms can be used by our clients to reduce their?environmental impact, and particularly Capture which is currently in Beta release and was part-funded by the UK Government.?

Capture is a decision-making tool designed to help global companies make the best informed business decisions as they plan their meetings, events and content creation. Capture works as a calculator, analysing the carbon footprint, cost, and time associated with every type of meeting and event. By using Capture, organisations?can gain early insight into the true business impact of their decisions before finalising plans, and then align the impact savings ?with established global reporting requirements.

wtv.’s award-winning remote video technology platform, CREWSTUDIO?was used at the North Pole at the beginning of April, and documented the exciting moment?of arrival of the NGO GoodGear’s Transglobal Car Expedition.

The expedition is attempting the first circumnavigation of the planet via both North and South Poles without flight, and the expedition is being used to test the latest technology innovations in the remotest and most hostile regions.

Our CREWSTUDIO technology stood up to the challenge perfectly and, using the Starlink internet network, delivered high quality video from key moments of the historic day directly into wtv.’s edit suites.

GoodGear believes in the potential of the human race to overcome it’s biggest challenges and create technology solutions that help create a sustainable, balanced and prosperous world for human beings, the global environment and its cultural heritage.?

CERN has also joined the expedition,?providing?innovative Cosmic Ray gathering and analysis technology and the cosmic ray measurements can be seen live here.?

As a key expedition technology tool, CREWSTUDIO is now heading south through Greenland and will cross Europe, Middle East and Africa before attempting its Antarctic crossing and then finally return to it’s ?New York starting point in about a year’s time.?

You can track the complete journey here using explorer-lands excellent global mapping technology.
