The Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado has been a registered apprenticeship partner since 2021. So far, they have trained five Line Cook apprentices, four of whom have completed their apprenticeship certificate of completion. The Colorado Restaurant Foundation (CRF) works closely with pre-apprenticeship partner school, Cherry Creek Innovation Campus , to refer candidates to the Gaylord. During a recent site visit, the NRAEF and CRF staff met with and celebrated the accomplishments of Line Cook apprenticeship completers Christopher Consolver, Alexander Jean, Kyla Ragan, and Bryant Wright.
In March, the culinary team at the Gaylord Rockies assisted CRF with career exploration and apprenticeship awareness activities at the Colorado ProStart Invitational. Executive Sous Chef Michael Klicos and Executive Chef Jake Pravecek conducted a culinary demonstration for the ProStart students at the competition. In addition, Bryant Wright led students and educators on a behind-the-scenes tour of the various culinary operations within the Gaylord resort.
