The ‘Paradise Paradox’: The Resort Town of Whitefish Seems Perfect, yet its Citizens Still Suffer

Lili Tenney shares her take on the “paradise paradox,” based on our work in mountain communities?debunking the myth that these towns?are free of stressors. Despite the breathtaking scenery and outdoor activities, many residents in these communities face challenges accessing mental health care and struggle to afford the high cost of therapy. At the Colorado Restaurant and Bar Show, we cohosted a table with Pinnacol Assurance , promoting the Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative.

We hosted our IMSS (Mexican Institute of Social Security) colleagues for Research Day, showing them the natural beauty of Colorado!

Amy Dye-Robinson , professional research assistant, recently defended her thesis for an MS in Biostatistics! She presented on "Evaluating the Reliability of Billing Codes for Chronic Diseases."

Brittany Lynner, MA, MS, ABD 4th-year graduate student in industrial-organizational psychology and occupational health psychology trainee in the NIOSH Mountain & Plains Education and Research Center who?has been awarded a $25,000 scholarship from PEO International.?
