Get notified by text or email when new books by your favorite authors arrive!

  • Our Author Alerts service allows you to get automatic notifications whenever your favorite authors or actors have a new item added to our MPHPL collection.
  • You can create an account and sign up to receive as many alerts as you like—there is no limit.
  • Choose the format(s) you prefer such as book, eBook, eAudiobook, large print, etc.
  • Discover new authors by reading others’ reviews.
  • Author Alerts is a free service provided to all MPHPL cardholders.

Author Aaron Helman presents Michiana's Forgotten Characters at the downtown Mishawaka Library Thursday, April 18 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

  • Helman is a lifelong resident of the South Bend area.
  • He is the author of several books, including An Incomplete History of St. Joseph County, Indiana, and Ride the Jack Rabbit.
  • Helman will discuss three fascinating Michiana historical biographies that you won't want to miss.

Ignite the Curiosity in Your Little One by Attending Early Explorers

Early Explorers sessions are offered in April at all MPHPL locations.

  • The 45 minute program is for children age 5 and under.
  • April's Theme: Participants are welcome to bring a miniature toy car or truck from home or use one of ours to visit Tape Town! We'll use painter's tape to create streets to access places such as the car wash, post office and grocery store.
  • This program helps develop early literacy skills through playtime activities.
  • Early Explorers is offered at the downtown Mishawaka Library, Harris Branch and Bittersweet
  • Branch in February, April, June, August, October and December.
  • No registration is needed – just show up with your little one(s).

April sessions will be held at 10:15-11 a.m. at the following locations:
