Vlinder has become the launch partner of Carbonmark, the universal carbon marketplace with a wide selection of digital carbon credits. In the interest of the Mangrove DAO we have tokenized blue carbon credits issued by the mangrove reforestation project in Myanmar using the Toucan Bridge.

You can now purchase blue carbon credits on the Carbonmark marketplace.

Project

The project restores mangrove areas in the Northern part of Ayeyarwady Division of Myanmar. This Verra-certified effort is implemented on over 2200 ha of degraded land to create a healthy mangrove ecosystem and sequester over 3.6 million tons of CO2 during the next 20 years.

Launch event

The marketplace was launched at ON SET #3, an online event organized by KlimaDAO. Vlinder founder and co-CEO Sergey Ivliev presented Vlinder there and spoke about our mangrove reforestation projects and our road to them, Vlinder's approach to tokenization of forward carbon, and the digitized carbon credits provided for the Carbonmark launch.?

The next round of planting is started in Kenya

Planting preparation in Kwale

Our flagship mangrove reforestation project is in Kenya. We started planting last year and passed the validation audit by Verra-accredited Validation Verification Body in January. The project will revitalize 1500 hectares of severely degraded mangroves in Kwale, Kilifi and Tana River counties.

At the end of March, the long-awaited rainy season came and the team on the ground continued the planting in Kwale. The plan is to restore as much of the 220 ha available in the county as the weather permits. All the planting jobs are filled by the local community people, and the seedlings are purchased from the nurseries run by women’s community-based organizations.

The committee’s mandate is to ensure that the National Mangrove Management Plan is implemented. We’re excited to work with Isabella — she is a talented and caring leader. Congratulations!

Vlinder on the carbon industry maps

Industry maps are a great way of watching market trends. We love our colleagues’ different approaches to the carbon market overview, and we’re happy to be on their radars. Last month Vlinder appeared in the two industry overviews.?

The map of evolving carbon industry by JustCarbon, a carbon removal consultant, features Vlinder as a blue carbon project developer and provider of early funding for carbon projects. The overview showcases the companies paving the way towards a better, stronger, and more transparent market with innovative CO2 capture and removal solutions.

The second map is a classification of tokenized carbon credits that PARTICULA, an ESG-Token Data Platform, has come up with.?

Hello Vlinder, I have some specific questions about "forensic ecology" and integrating it to "community engagement/ mitigation strategies". Do you have a process for project site selection???
