Dynamic operating envelope illistration

Pushing the envelope for renewables

In our latest blog post, we delved deep and asked the question: What are dynamic operating envelopes??

Australia leads the world in pioneering distributed energy resources (DER) control and the application of dynamic operating envelopes.

Dynamic operating envelopes support market efficiencies by making solar and battery assets available to reduce wholesale market prices benefitting both energy consumers and network operators.

At SwitchDin, we’ve worked closely with the industry to demonstrate the viability of this capability across Australia from network operators to energy retailers.

SwitchDin join with PowerPlus Energy

PowerPlus Energy selects SwitchDin to deliver its battery fleet management capabilities

Earlier this month, we announced that we would be joining forces with Australian cleantech leader and battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturer, PowerPlus Energy .?

Using SwitchDin’s solution, PowerPlus Energy will unlock powerful portfolio management capabilities that will add value and open new opportunities for their residential and business customers who invest in BESS.

The partnership will open the door for value-adding opportunities by leveraging SwitchDin’s digital expertise for behind-the-meter (BTM) optimisation, energy market participation and provision of energy services for PowerPlus Energy products.

SwitchDin at RMI’s first Virtual Power Plant Partnership meeting in the US

This month, SwitchDin attended the first RMI Virtual Power Plant Partnership (VP3) convening in Basalt, Colorado with CEO Andrew M. and Head of Regulatory Affairs, Darren G. representing SwitchDin at the meeting.

As one of the founding members of VP3, we shared our extensive experience delivering VPPs as a market leader in Australia, learned from fellow members and collaborated on how we can catalyse the potential for rapid growth of virtual power plants in the United States to modernise energy systems.

Our team looks forward to assisting VP3 in its mission to empower communities and ensure clean, reliable electricity on the grid. You can learn more about VP3 here.

SwitchDin submission to National Battery Strategy Issues Paper

Australia is the world leader in the integration of consumer energy resources into distribution networks due to our exceptionally high and rapid uptake of rooftop solar.

Because of this, Australian technology in this area is about 4 to 5 years ahead of other global counterparts including the United States and Europe.

Australia has a unique opportunity to provide end-to-end solutions and SwitchDin believes that software is the key enabling technology needed to turn a battery from a commodity product into a safe, smart consumer-focused solution.?

This provides Australia with a competitive advantage that would build and support growth for the battery industry in domestic and export markets.?

SwitchDin wrote a submission that welcomes the Australian Government’s proposal for a National Battery Strategy. You can read our submission and recommendations in full here.

Kind regards,

The SwitchDin Team
