Video broadcasting is a way of sharing and creating content for your online audience. There are several platforms that can be used all at varying price ranges for your church to reach its digital viewership. However, every digital platform will likely include the use of live and pre-recorded content geared to engage the viewer and invite them into the daily life of the church, all without ever leaving their living rooms. When done well, growing the video broadcast and digital streaming components of the church can exponentially increase the amount of online engagement, publicity, and viewership, not only in the region where your church is located but across the globe.

Modern technology in worship services is more accessible than ever. One such technology that has become achievable for most houses of worship in the last two years is large LED Video displays. As a growing AV & Lighting integrator, we here at 5 Words Media have seen the question of LED Walls pop up more and more in our design kickoff meetings for new and existing houses of worship. The question usually arises with a little bit of trepidation and a downcast eye as the worship/tech director levies the all too familiar words:
“If we can afford it, we would like to look into getting an LED wall.”?

So, your church has decided to move away from floor wedges. Maybe they need to decrease the stage volume or reduce clutter, so the stage looks cleaner for livestreaming. Whatever the reason, you are faced with the challenge of buying or using in-ear monitors.
The world of in-ear monitors is relatively new and unfamiliar to most folks. It has its own language and buying process. If we are talking custom in-ear monitors, it might be the first custom ANYTHING you have ever bought.

Livestreaming has come a long way since its inception nearly 30 years ago by RealNetworks with their RealPlayer. If that just brought back some nostalgia, please join me in feeling old. While livestreaming didn’t really gain mainstream status until later in the first decade of this century, the last 10 years have seen a substantial increase in viewer expectations and competition.
If COVID provided any benefits, one of them has to be that it drove growth in church livestreaming through sheer necessity. The downside to that is now that we are meeting in person again, churches have tended to see a drop-off in their in-person attendance in favor of the convenience of watching online.
