"What I think is salvageable and enduring in Hegel is his structure of thought. He treated political theory as a historical and philosophical enterprise. Hegel is the person who supremely tried to reconcile historicity and normativity. I think he tried to incorporate historical contingency into political theory without dismantling the possibility of philosophical normativity. I consider this to be an enduring and valuable part of Hegel’s project"
