Finding approval is a universal desire.
When we are at work, we have to prove our strengths, capabilities, and talents. When we are at school, we have to prove our knowledge, courage, and reputation status.
When we are at a societal event, we have to prove our networking power, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
So often, we get so tied up in seeking validation, that we lack to realize the most important thing.
“God loves all”, is not just a fancy phrase people throw around to make you feel better. There is a deeper truth to this and Ephesians 1:6-7 beautifully encapsulates this divine affirmation.
Regardless what you have said or done, you are accepted?in the Beloved. No matter what sins you have committed or will commit in the future,?you are accepted?in the Beloved. No matter how crazy your life is/was, you will remain accepted in Him. Even if you stray far from God, He still accepts you in Christ.
Ephesians reminds us that the ultimate approval has already been granted — not in spite of our flaws but through them.
It is an acceptance that is not rooted in external achievements or societal standards, recognizing our intrinsic value as creations of divinity.
Reflecting on this, we are invited to embrace our imperfections, acknowledge our need for grace and forgiveness and to go forth and live with purpose.
In the professional realm, this short passage can guide us to rethink our interpretation of approval.
Rather than being solely driven by external success, like awards or high praise, we can find purpose and fulfillment in contributing positively to the world. Our work becomes an extension of gratitude, a way to manifest the grace we've experienced.
Always remember:
When we have been approved by God, we have nothing to prove to others. Amen.
