Apprenticeships unique to you
At a recent meeting regarding our Logistics Apprenticeships, the employer was taken aback by the level of detail and tailoring our Apprenticeships go through. Taking into account the wants and needs, covering multiple business units, it surprised the employer how unique each journey would be.
Our innovative approach ensuring the employer has involvement in creating something unique, means we set ourselves apart from other providers. We will align this with internal training, considering the individual's learning requirements and how this will have maximum impact.
At the Employer meeting, we discussed the JDs and considered the different Apprenticeships available and what would be the best fit taking into account the different career paths.?An Apprenticeship is no different to an internal Talent Management programme, considering the best next steps on completion. Establishing the employer’s need’s, going through the requirements is vital to ensure the success of any Apprenticeship. It has to fit with their challenge areas as well and have the flexibility to move/change add in content as the Apprentices go through their journeys.
We discussed how they envisaged the delivery, OTJ learning, what internal training plans they may have and what they would like to gain from the apprenticeships.

The JDs were given to our Intent and Content Manager Gemma, along with the internal development programme already in place to create the bespoke individual Apprenticeship Learning Plans. We gained a good understanding of the roles whilst ensuring the employer's requirements were met by selecting the most suitable units, whilst embedding the Internal plan and where and how this would fit.
Gemma created a plan which suggested what would work best for workshop delivery and 1:1 delivery. This included content titles, what would be covered during each workshop in addition to the work set for the Apprentices on a visit-by-visit basis.
Each employer’s requirements are different. It’s important for us to ensure the employer is part of the creation of the apprenticeship, ensuring this is going to add real value to their staff development. The “Apprenticeship Standards” may be the same, but taking into account all of the above and what we can embed into each really does make the experience and journey unique for everyone.
