Apprenticeship opportunities go live

This year STFC is offering over 40 new and exciting apprenticeship opportunities across its sites, in both STEM and non-STEM roles.

Introducing the STFC apprenticeship scheme

The apprenticeship scheme provides an excellent training opportunity to equip yourself with the relevant skills and experience for your chosen career path. Alongside working with innovative technologies and world-leading research, apprentices will earn a wage while working first-hand on projects and equipment.

These apprenticeships are being offered in a range of areas including:

  • engineering (level 3): mechanical, electrical, electronic, and machining
  • computing (level 4 and 6): DevOps, software engineering, network engineering
  • project management?
  • laboratory technician?
  • IT technician?
  • business administration

Advantages of an apprenticeship with STFC

The apprenticeship scheme is open to anyone over the age of 16 and not in full time education.

Here at STFC, you will receive highly tailored training and support from your colleagues and the dedicated apprenticeship team, which will help you succeed in your work and qualifications. We will provide you with an opportunity to pursue your interests and passions, while learning and earning at the same time.

At each of our national laboratories, you will have access to a large community of apprentices, annual apprentice award evenings, active sporting and social groups and the potential opportunity to complete overseas placements.
