Apprentice 121 Two Years of Effort

Apprentice 121 Two Years of Effort

Well that is 2 years ish for apprentice 121. I say ish because I had sort of being doing much of what A121 does in the background for a bit of time before it actually blew up.

What an adventure it has been so far. Articles in industry magazines, 2 x YouTube channels, Instagram, Tiktok, Website, Partnerships, Manufacturer support and lots lots more. I have to be honest I have got a lot from doing this, I take as much as I give.

Well over 1800 into work (truly stopped counting now, its prob over 2k tbh)

Over 1000 into work places for experience.

Over 300 hiring for the first time

Thousands of tools, books and other equipment provided directly to apprentices and colleges.

Supporting colleges across the UK with funding and equipment, an academy of our own on the way and support with all of that from brands and people across the industry.

A very exciting and rewarding adventure and it feels very much like the beginning at the minute. Who knows were this will end up.

I am really looking forward to discussing things with some of the industry bodies and guiding influences on podcasts soon and growing the new and very small apprentice 121 podcast with my mates! A new hobby I love.

The best thing for me is all the friendships built during this period, so many kind and supportive people are in the electrical industry. Do not get me wrong some people have behaved very unkindly particularly those who I gave incredible support to for a number of years. But as time has moved along those people have revelled themselves as the poisonous few. Ultimately doing the same and far worse to other people.

We still have some massive problems to resolve and interesting industry moves with the new domestic electrical apprenticeship and EAS requirements. Not forgetting the innovation and opportunity we all have as sparks over the next decade or more.

I want to thank everyone again for the continued support and for all the effort in taking this as far as we have. A true team effort and the reality is the success is on the apprentices and employers rather than myself or A121.

Lets continue the adventure and to those who ignored, belittled and called lies.... Turns out you was wrong. Who knew.

Well well well, Mark thank you for doing what you do, I’ve 2 hats on here I’m a technical craftsman in heavy engineering (trains) and currently heading for my NVQ3, so you have inspired me massively and again massively helped me learning and refining my electrical skills, your passion and enthusiasm shine through in every video/podcast, you are a shining example of a true ambassador for electrical industry!, I also understand other people are negative and their conduct has been less than favourable, but that’s life people change/come/go, you are far far to humble and don’t take near the credit you deserve, many people in industry look upto you (I’m one of them) so on a personal note Thank you Mark
