Appreciation for Truck Drivers

It is National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. I have the honor and privilege to lead some of the world's safest, and most professional drivers at Walmart. It if wasn't for drivers, many of us would not have the lives we do. We owe everything we have to them, especially the basic necessities of life - food, shelter, and clothing.

My wonderful career at Walmart led me to transportation where I found my home working with drivers. I get to interact with so many different people in my role as a General Transportation Manager, and it's the drivers that impress me the most. The level of commitment and dedication from drivers is simply incredible. Always the first to respond and step up during a challenge, a crisis, or to help anyone in need. Drivers pack up and leave their families and spend more time in their truck than their homes and work 14+ hours per day and over 70 hours each week. It's a sacrifice and a commitment to serve others.

Drivers deserve the utmost respect and appreciation. I am so grateful for our drivers and how they take care of our people and our customers. Feeling blessed beyond belief and so happy to express my thanks and appreciation to all truck drivers for the sacrifices they make and the job they do to keep America going!
