It is rightly said that the fastest way to lose the best employees is to stop appreciating what they do.

In a business, it is important to treat the employees right. We always expect the best of the results and output, and the employees help us achieve what the company desires. Being loyal to the employees and their hard work encourages them to provide better work in the future for the enterprise's welfare. 

A company has many components, the workforce is one of the most important ones. The employees contribute their time and energy to bring what the company desires. A leader needs to contemplate the thoughts of the employees and understand their mental space. Mental health is of the topmost priority for everyone. If they would not like the environment in which they are working, they would not prefer to be there. Everyone needs to be encouraged to perform better in the company. And that encouragement can be shown by appreciating the work done by them.

There are a lot of things to keep in mind when it comes to the matter of employees. Their recognition is important, and thus recognizing their work will lead to a stronger performance in the future. Along with being specific and relevant while recognizing the work, it is also important to be timely. This means that the employees should feel that it is done periodically so that improvements can also take place if needed. The leaders must understand that the employees should be a priority. This way, the employees will make sure that their work is of utmost priority which will lead to better results for the company. 

Motivation is what gives a person more and more confidence to be better. And that can be achieved in several ways. Language of appreciation can be well, to appreciate verbally of how the work is done. Along with that, a bonus, raise, taking them out of dinner- it will showcase that you care for the employees and value their presence in the company. Even handwritten notes do a great job in increasing the spirit of the employees. It makes them feel special and wanted. 

Gratitude is essential to sustain a company. Everyday ‘thank yous’ and ‘well done’ work nicely with the employees. That would maximize productivity and create a space that will be considered safe and healthy by the employees.

It is always important to ask yourself how important employee recognition is in the company, and how it is going to achieved and in what way. There is always going to be someone out there among your employees who are thinking or even planning to quit their job because of the workspace environment or not getting recognition for the hard work that they do. You can avoid that from happening by cultivating a positive work environment, encouraging employee engagement, and exercise employee recognition among your employees.

So make sure that you give the best employees the recognition they deserve.
